The cemeteries in Mexico can be very colorful. Most don't consider such bright colors to be synonymous with the death ritual, but the graveyards are almost cheerful. It is with the same cheer that the "Festival of the Dead" is celebrated. 
  This philosophy was likely spawned by the combined faiths of the early Mexican native Indian cultures and Roman Catholicism.
